- This replacement part is a door seal for front-loading washers.
- The door seal is the rubber piece that seals the washer tub with the door.
- Over time a tub seal can become cracked or damaged, leading the seal to no longer be effective in keeping water from escaping the washing machine.
- If the seal is no longer doing its job effectively and is leaking water, it might need to be replaced.
- Luckily, replacing this part is a very simple process.To replace the tub seal, start by making sure that the washer is unplugged. After that, proceed to remove the lower access panel of the washer by removing the three screws that secure it at the bottom.
- Next, remove the top panel by unthreading the screws that secure it.
- Then proceed to remove the upper console by releasing the locking tab that holds it in place. After it's been removed, proceed to remove the door switch. After that, remove the spring clamp that holds the seal in place.
- This will loosen the seal. Once loosened, proceed to pull the seal out from the door. Replace the old seal with the new one and reinstall the spring clamp to secure the seal.
- This part is sold individually and is compatible with Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, Sears, and Kenmore brand front-loading washers.
