This is a Whirlpool drive motor control board, or MCU, for washing machines. It monitors and controls the speed and direction of the drive motor.
If this board fails, the washer likely will not work, and the display may show an error code like F70.
Before installing this part, be sure to cut power to the appliance and allow it to drain, cool, and dry completely.
The washer will need to be pulled away from any walls to properly access the control panel.
After opening the panel, remove any mounting screws or wire harnesses connecting the old drive motor control board and install the new one in its place.
